About OKJournal

OKJournal is a privacy-focused, offline-first cryptocurrency data visualization and journaling app for macOS. The app helps you track, analyze, and journal your cryptocurrency activities while keeping all your data securely on your Mac.

Getting Started

Step 1: Install from Mac App Store

  1. Search for "OKJournal" in the Mac App Store
  2. Click "Get" to install the app
  3. Launch OKJournal from Applications or Launchpad

Step 2: Connect Your Exchange (Optional)

  1. Create read-only API keys in your cryptocurrency exchange
  2. In OKJournal, go to Preferences > API Connections
  3. Add your read-only API credentials
  4. The app will securely sync your trading data for visualization

Security Note: Only use read-only API keys. Never provide keys with trading or withdrawal permissions.

System Requirements

  • macOS 15 or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) processors only
  • 50 MB available storage space
  • Internet connection for initial exchange data sync

Common Questions

Q: Is my data safe?
A: Yes! All your data stays on your Mac. We don't have servers or user accounts.

Q: Can the app access my cryptocurrency funds?
A: No. The app only uses read-only API keys and cannot execute trades or access funds.

Q: What exchanges are supported?
A: OKX, Binance, and Bybit. Premium tiers unlock additional exchange connections.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how OKJournal ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use our offline cryptocurrency journal macOS application available through the Mac App Store.

Important: OKJournal is designed as an offline-first macOS application. We do not operate backend servers, maintain user accounts, or store your personal data on our servers. Your journal data remains exclusively on your Mac.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not create user accounts or profiles.
  • We do not store your data on our servers.
  • We do not access your personal files or documents.
  • We do not collect cryptocurrency wallet addresses or private keys.
  • We do not share your trading data with any third parties.

Information Stored Locally on Your Mac

All data you provide is stored only on your Mac. This includes:

  • Read-only API tokens from cryptocurrency exchanges (encrypted in macOS Keychain).
  • Journal entries and trading notes (encrypted local storage).
  • App preferences and settings.

Third-Party Service Data Collection

To improve our app and manage subscriptions, we use the following services:

  • Mixpanel Analytics: We collect anonymous app usage statistics (e.g., feature usage, app launches) and performance metrics. This data cannot be linked to you personally. An analytics opt-out is available in app preferences. For more details, see Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.
  • Adapty Subscription Management: This service handles subscription status and purchase events anonymously. It has no access to your trading data or journal entries. For more details, see Adapty's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Mac App Store: Purchase and subscription information is managed entirely by Apple. We have no access to your Apple ID or payment information.

Data Security and Protection

We prioritize your security:

  • API tokens are stored in macOS Keychain with system-level encryption.
  • The app benefits from macOS App Sandbox security.
  • Only read-only API keys are supported, meaning the app cannot execute trades.
  • API data is never routed through our servers.

International Compliance
